At this year’s APEX Expo in Los Angeles and World Aviation Festival in Lisbon, Omnevo brought something a little different to the show floor, a concept designed to turn heads, spark imagination, and start conversations about what’s next for inflight commerce.
Introducing the Wellness Guru an AI commerce agent prototype we created together with our partner Foodcase International, bringing together the worlds of wellbeing and retail innovation.
The idea began with Marc Warde, who wanted to make it easier for travellers to choose healthier, functional products onboard, items like jet lag lozenges, hydration boosters, and energy-balancing supplements.
We loved that vision and wanted to take it one step further - what if the guidance that came with these products was just as smart as the products themselves?
That’s where Omnevo’s AI Commerce Agent came in.
We designed a prototype character, a friendly Indian “Wellness Guru,” complete with a calm tone and reassuring voice, to demonstrate how AI can guide passengers to make better, more personalised purchasing decisions in real time.
At APEX and WAF, the Guru not only entertained, but opened a serious conversation about how AI commerce is evolving into a new sales channel for airlines and airports alike.

While the Wellness Guru drew crowds for its charm, the real magic was happening behind the scenes.
Because this prototype was fully connected to Omnevo’s e-commerce and onboard retail platform, every recommendation came from live inventory data meaning the Guru only suggested products actually in stock and available for sale.
This is where the concept becomes a product.
